The Dickie Street Custom Home site provided a challenge in that the land involved a steep descent away from the street. Consequently, the majority of the house is at street level but shares the airiness and aspect of a second storey.
A stunning timber staircase leads you down to a designated games room or play area which is at level with the generous backyard. The exterior of the house has modern tones of brick and render which match the surrounding landscape.
The exterior and interior features Spotted Gum throughout, which lends itself to the modern, chic aesthetic and spacious atmosphere. The cabinetry and joinery was by JB Custom Built. These, along with the appliances and furnishings, mirror this contemporary feel, as well as cleverly using the space. The inbuilt shelves, integrated cupboards in the bedrooms and the study nook in the living area are all examples of this. The no handle kitchen cupboards and island bench create an area that is easy to use and has an excellent aspect of the attached living areas. From here, the adjoining al fresco affords an uninterrupted view of the neighbouring market gardens and Lerderderg River beyond. The northerly aspect invites the sun into the house. The incoming light warms the interior and adds to the charm of this gorgeous home.
